Rann to start consultancy group
Former South Australian Premier Mike Rann is set to launch a consultancy group with prospective clients to include renewable energy companies.
The Rann Strategy Group will be based in the UK and Italy and comes after Mr Rann completed postings as Australia's high commissioner to the UK and more recently as ambassador to Italy.
The former premier has also recently been appointed a visiting professor at the prestigious King's College in London where he will focus on a range of subjects including renewable energy, sustainability and social inclusion strategies.
"I am particularly pleased to be involved with King's Policy Institute which has become an important source of policy innovation in Britain and internationally," Mr Rann told AAP.
"It is strengthening links between academia and the policy world and, through its Strand Group, is connecting policy with politics."
Mr Rann said his consultancy group would help companies seeking to develop international markets.
It was incorporated in December with four directors including Mr Rann and his wife Sasha.
Mr Rann was Labor leader in SA for 17 years and spent almost a decade as premier, before standing down in 2011 ahead of his retirement from politics early the following year.
