Prosecutors wait on forensic material

Key forensic evidence is still to be finalised in the case against a man charged over a murder in South Australia in 1998, a court has heard.

Adrian Mahony, 66, appeared in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Tuesday charged over the death of Dale McCauley.

Prosecutors have told the court they are still waiting on a significant amount of material, including the results of a post-mortem examination and blood spatter analysis.

Mahony has been remanded in custody to appear again on May 20 to answer the murder charge.
