Three men involved in a fatal bashing in Adelaide have been caught on security video with police calling for public help to identify the assailants.

Mark Robert Boyce was punched, kicked and left dying on a footpath at Elizabeth South in January, succumbing to his injuries in hospital a week later.

Police have now released the footage showing his attackers fleeing in two cars.

"This was a cowardly, brutal attack," Detective Superintendent Des Bray said.

"We have seized CCTV from nearby properties and today I'm asking the community to look at this footage and consider if they know the people involved or can identify the vehicles."

Mr Boyce was at his home on the night of January 30 when he went outside and spoke with a person in a car parked outside his property.

Soon after, a late model SUV and a small hatchback drove into the street and parked.

A man from one of those cars attacked the 36-year-old before the two others joined in.

"He was punched and kicked repeatedly and was only left lying on the footpath when the assailants were disturbed by a nearby resident," Supt Bray said.

"We have positive lines of inquiry, but assistance is sought from the public who may have witnessed the events on the night or are aware of information that may help with the investigation."
