Police cars catches fire at pump

A police officer has escaped injury after the petrol tank of his patrol car caught fire as he was filling it with fuel.
Early on Friday the officer was filling up the car with petrol at a Largs Bay service station when he saw flames coming from the nozzle of the pump and from the cars' s tank.
He doused the flames with a fire extinguisher.

The pump has been cordoned off and will be inspected while the car was towed from the scene and will also be checked.
