Frontline workers and experts are coming together in Darwin for the Northern Territory's first domestic, family and sexual violence conference.

The two-day event, starting on Thursday, comes as figures show more than 60 incidents of domestic and family violence are reported in the Territory each day, and more people are killed by domestic violence there than in any other Australian jurisdiction.

"Domestic, family and sexual violence is unacceptable," Territory Families chief executive Ken Davies said.

"This conference is a great step towards achieving long-term social and cultural change but we all have a powerful role to play in changing individual attitudes and behaviours towards violence."
