A 67-year-old man has been missing in the Northern Territory for more than a month with police calling for public help to find him.

Alex Rosenberg was last seen in the Edith Falls area, southeast of Darwin, on August 19 walking along the Leliyn Track.

Police say an extensive search has been conducted in the area but has failed to find any trace of him.

His caravan and vehicle were still located at a nearby campsite and found to be in a neat and tidy condition.

He may have been wearing a khaki shirt, black and khaki hat, black shorts and Salomon hiking boots.

Police have asked anyone who saw Mr Rosenberg on August 19 to come forward.

They've also asked people in the Edith Falls area to keep an eye out for items including a blue backpack, walking pole, a Samsung Edge mobile phone and a Samsung Galaxy tablet which he may have discarded or lost.
