NT police investigate custody incident

A serious custody incident involving a 14-year-old boy is being investigated by Northern Territory police.

Police say the incident occurred in late October and was captured on CCTV and body-worn video but is not related to the recent disturbance at the Don Dale youth detention centre.

The complaint is being handled by the Police Standards Command with oversight by the Northern Territory Ombudsman and has been assessed as category one, involving serious allegations of misconduct.
