Nick Xenophon's view of key SA projects

NICK XENOPHON'S ISSUES WITH KEY SA PROJECTS:

* O-Bahn busway tunnel extension: Mr Xenophon says the decision was highly political and ignored cheaper, more logical alternatives such as road upgrades.

* The New Royal Adelaide Hospital: He says the government failed to keep costs from blowing out and a better design would have solved problems with ambulance ramping and long waiting times.

* Adelaide CBD tram extension: Mr Xenophon has questioned the project's $70 million cost for just one kilometre of track. He says a similar extension in 2007 cost just $30 million.
