New surrogacy laws pass in SA
AAP
Surrogates in South Australia will get access to increased financial assistance under new laws passed by state parliament.
The changes will also create a surrogacy register and a framework for advertising to allow prospective parents to contact a surrogate more easily.
The bill was brought to parliament by Liberal John Dawkins, who said many parents had told him that difficulties finding a suitable surrogate had forced them to look overseas.
