New rental laws cover SA violence victims
AAP
New laws helping victims of domestic violence who live in rental properties have passed the South Australian parliament.
The laws allow people with abusive partners to terminate a lease without facing a financial penalty, acting Minister for the Status of Women Susan Close says.
The changes also allow victims of domestic violence to have their names taken off a joint lease they share with an abusive partner.
