New reef planned for SA coastline

A new artificial reef is to be established off the South Australian coastline and locals are being asked where it should be built.

The project is part of a $3.25 million support package to boost recreational fishing and tourism in areas affected by new marine parks.

SA Environment Minister Ian Hunter says the new reef is an exciting prospect for recreational anglers.

A community forum will be held in May to take views on the reef's location.
