Australia's big four banks have offered assistance packages to customers affected by the bushfire burning north of Adelaide.

National Australia Bank and ANZ customers will be offered loan and credit card relief, can have repayments suspended and will get other support to restructure their banking arrangements.

"This is a hard time for the people of Pinery and other communities in the area as they continue to face the real danger of bushfires," NAB's general manager of retail operations for South Australia Gregg Harris said.

The Commonwealth Bank's relief package includes emergency accommodation, expedited insurance claims and restructured loans.

Westpac customers can access benefits including deferred repayments, emergency funds and increased credit limits.

"We understand times like these can be extremely hard - emotionally, physically but also financially," SA general manager Lester Wynne-Jones said.
