Murray flows now tipped to go higher

Water levels in the Murray are expected to remain high until Christmas after peaking in early December, authorities say.

River flows are now expected to peak at about 100 gigalitres a day, up from 90 gigalitres at present and the previously predicted high of 95 gigalitres, South Australia's Department of Environment, Water and Natural Resources says.

That could cause issues for some shack owners with areas along the river being inundated as water from heavy rains upstream steadily makes its way to the Murray mouth.
