A South Australian woman accused of murdering her two-year-old daughter is to face a hearing on her mental fitness to plead to the charge.

The toddler's body was found on a rural property in the Adelaide Hills.

The Adelaide magistrates court has previously been told a psychiatrist concluded Pallin "was unable to reason, with a moderate degree of sense and composure, about the wrongfulness of her actions".

She opined Pallin was suffering from a mental impairment at the time of the offence, that would "render her incompetent" under the law.

Pallin, who is on home detention bail, will face a judge-alone trial in the Supreme Court on Thursday in relation to her mental fitness to plead.
