The mother of the man charged with murdering South Australian woman Jody Meyers has appeared in court on a theft charge.

Margaret Archer, 55, appeared unrepresented in the Murray Bridge Magistrates Court on Wednesday over allegations she used the dead woman's ATM card to take cash from her account.

She was charged with dishonestly taking property without consent and will appear in the same court on October 19.

Last week her 29-year-old son, Neil, was charged with the murder of Ms Meyers after the body of the 20-year-old was found buried under a concrete slab in the backyard of his parents' home.

He made no application for bail and was remanded in custody to appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on December 1.

Before the discovery of her body, Ms Meyers had been missing for a month prompting a major police investigation including a search of the sections of the Murray River and roads in the Mannum area.

During that investigation police also seized CCTV footage believed to show a person allegedly accessing the missing woman's bank account at a local ATM.
