Missing SA man likely murdered: police

Missing Adelaide man Daniel Hind has been murdered, South Australian police fear.

The 29-year-old was last seen at the Whitehorse Inn Hotel in Bolivar on August 28.

"It's reasonable to assume that it's mostly likely that Daniel may have been murdered," Detective Superintendent Des Bray told reporters on Monday.

Supt Bray said there were conflicting accounts about who was with Mr Hind when he left the pub.

"One version has Daniel leaving with an acquaintance in a dark-coloured car at about 11.30pm," he said.

"The other ... is that Daniel left the premises with two people in a dark-coloured car and [with] a female and that female's name is possibly Sarah."

Supt Bray also said Mr Hind's credit card was last used to buy alcohol at the hotel shortly after he left and his phone was last used to text an acquaintance early the next morning.

It is unclear whether Mr Hind made the purchase or sent the message himself.
