Minister could lose seat, SA poll shows

A South Australian government minister is at serious risk of losing his seat to the Liberals at the March state election, a new poll shows.

Transport Minister Stephen Mullighan's primary vote in the seat of Lee, has dropped from 42 per cent at the 2014 election to 34 per cent according to a Galaxy poll published in the Advertiser on Monday.

The poll of 520 people in the seat in Adelaide's northwest includes the suburbs of West Lakes, Tennyson and Semaphore.

If this seat falls it will be a big blow to Labor and Mr Mullighan who is considered a potential future Labor leader.

Liberal candidate and West Torrens councillor Steven Rypp leads the primary vote with 39 per cent, with SA-BEST in third position on 18 per cent.

South Australians head to the polls on March 17 in what has been tipped to be one of the most uncertain elections in the state's history.

Mr Xenophon's SA-BEST is planning to run candidates in more than 30 seats hoping to seize the balance of power in the next parliament.
