A man accused of a fatal stabbing in Adelaide has been arrested after a day-long manhunt.

The 33-year-old surrendered to police on Thursday more than 12 hours after he allegedly stabbed a 25-year-old man in the neck at Gilles Plains, in Adelaide's northeast, on Wednesday night.

Witnesses to the attack called authorities from inside the home but the victim died at the scene and the accused, who knew him, fled.
