Man tries to snatch two children

A man has tried to snatch two young children from a home in Perth.

Midland detectives are trying to identify the offender who forced his way into the Forrestfield property on Wednesday.

A 67-year-old woman was home at the time when the man knocked on her door pretending to deliver a letter.

He pushed past her to where her three grandchildren were playing and attempted to lure two girls, aged seven and eight, to go with him.

When they refused, he fled the scene.
