Police shoot man in siege south east of Adelaide

Police have fatally shot a man during a siege near Tailem Bend, south east of Adelaide.

Police were called to the man's home around 7pm last night but he refused to cooperate.

Over the course of several hours he fired at police and around midnight, STAR Group officers returned fire, fatally wounding the man.

Attempts were made to revive him but he died at the scene.

A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
