A man who spent nearly a week on the run before being apprehended over the murder of a South Australian mother-of-three has pleaded guilty to the charge.

Travis Kirchner appeared in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Friday to enter his plea over the death of Sally Rothe at Murray Bridge in February.

Police discovered Ms Rothe's body after responding to reports of a disturbance at the house on Albert Terrace.

Kirchner fled the scene, sparking a five-day manhunt across South Australia and Victoria.

He was arrested by Victoria Police in the Melbourne suburb of Doveton after a tip-off from South Australia Police Major Crime Investigators, and extradited back to South Australia.

Kirchner was on Friday remanded in custody and will appear in the Supreme Court for a sentencing hearing in October.
