Suspect's car burnt after Adelaide hit-run

The driver of a ute set ablaze in Adelaide is linked to a fatal hit-and-run, police say.

A 45-year-old man was struck as he crossed a road in Ingle Farm, in the city's northern suburbs, about 7.15pm on Thursday and died overnight.

Police are searching for the driver and say the white Ford ute found torched not far from the crash scene is believed to be the car involved.

It has been seized for forensic examination.

The road death takes SA's toll for 2015 to 53, one less than at the same time last year.
