Man dies in car rollover in SA's far north

A man has died and five other people have been taken to hospital after the car they were in rolled in South Australia's far north.

The accident happened on Challenger Access Road near Tarcoola on Saturday night.

One passenger died at the scene and three others were airlifted to the Royal Adelaide Hospital, where they remain in stable condition.

The driver and a fifth passenger were treated at Coober Pedy Hospital.

The state's road toll now stands at 79 compared with 82 at this time last year.
