Man charged with Adelaide murder

An Adelaide man has been charged with the murder of his father in a confrontation at the family's southern suburbs home.

The 37-year-old appeared in court on Thursday after being arrested at the Port Noarlunga South property on Wednesday night.

He made no application for bail and was remanded in custody.

Detective Chief Inspector John Schrader said the 62-year-old victim was found with serious injuries and was taken to the Flinders Medical Centre but died soon after.

Insp Schrader said the incident was traumatic for the family with other members in the house at the time of the alleged murder.

"The family members are distressed and we are trying to provide them with assistance," he said.
