Man carrying axe in Adelaide charged

A man has been charged after threatening people with an axe in Adelaide.

A 22-year-old man was acting aggressively while carrying an axe at the intersection of North Terrace and Pulteney Street at 5:20pm on Monday, police say.

He was arrested after attempting to steal a mobile phone from a man, and is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday after being charged with attempted aggravated robbery, carrying a weapon and property damage.
