Man arrested after trying to ram police

A man tried to ram a police car several times during a pursuit in Adelaide's northern suburbs.

The 43-year-old was spotted driving at high speed at 2.30am on Tuesday at Munno Para West, police say.

He sped off when patrols moved to stop him, trying unsuccessfully to ram the police car as he fled.

The car was eventually stopped at nearby Davoren Park where the man was detained and later charged with speeding, driving in a manner dangerous and resisting arrest.

He has been refused bail and will appear in court on Tuesday.

His car has been impounded for 28 days.
