Man arrested after Adelaide roof stand-off

A man has been arrested after throwing tiles from the roof of an Adelaide home amid a stand-off with police.

The 25-year-old was found on the Smithfield Plains roof shortly before 3am on Saturday and threw tiles until police were able to talk him down.

He has been taken to hospital for a medical assessment and is expected to be charged with being on a premises unlawfully and for property damage.
