Major changes proposed for SA liquor laws

Proposed changes to liquor laws in South Australia would cut red tape, remove trading restrictions on Sundays and make it tougher for minors to buy booze.

A new bill has been drafted that contains more than 100 changes to SA's Liqour Licensing Act, including the removal of all restrictions on alcohol sales on Sundays, Christmas Day, Good Friday and New Year's Eve.

It also tightens laws relating to underage drinking, such as empowering venues to seize fake IDs and creating a non-compliance register for venues or shops caught selling alcohol to minors.
