Rangers foil lunch-thieving pelican's reign of terror

Authorities have captured one of two lunch-snatching pelicans tormenting Adelaide city workers.

Two of the birds have been approaching visitors to Torrens Lake before stealing their food.

Experts say the aggressive approaches have been caused by people ignoring warning signs, and feeding the birds at the popular location.

The offending pelicans were marked with blue paint and today a Marine Wildlife Rescue officer captured one of them.

The dramatic capture was caught on camera by Nine News.

The pelican has been relocated to a nearby wetlands, while the other is still being sought.
