Koala cools down during South Australian scorcher

A koala has been spotting going for a swim, likely in an attempt to cool down as South Australians sweat through scorching temperatures.

In a video posted to Facebook by Authentic Kangaroo Island today, the koala can be seen taking a dip in a stream.

“This koala sure has the right idea on hot summer’s day!” the caption on the video reads.

The furry animal looks to be enjoying the water, and viewers enjoyed it too. The video has accumulated more than 5000 views.

The state, part of which has suffered through the heat without power, has seen temperatures soaring into the 40s today.

The koala was seen on Kangaroo Island where temperatures only reached a maximum of 33 degrees.
