Fruit fly outbreak in Adelaide
AAP
Fruit fly larvae have been found in home-grown persimmons in Adelaide sparking a quarantine zone and eradication program.
Biosecurity SA will contact homes and businesses within the 1.5km zone around the site of the outbreak in Colonel Light Gardens as they conduct an immediate baiting program.
South Australia is the only mainland state to be free of fruit fly with any outbreak threatening its $1.1 billion horticulture industry.
