Forgotten fan sparks Adelaide house fire

An Adelaide home has been partly destroyed by a fire sparked by an unattended fan.

The fan had been left on throughout the day as temperatures in the city climbed to 35 degrees, sparking a blaze in a bedroom of the Elizabeth South home later that night.

No one was home at the time and the fire was contained to the room, causing about $60,000 in damages.
