Driver seriously injured in island crash

A Kangaroo Island driver is in a critical condition after a head-on collision.

Police say it was caused by a young motorist crossing onto the wrong side of the road.

A 59-year-old Vivonne Bay man was seriously injured in the crash on the Playford Highway at Cygnet River about 5pm on Wednesday.

South Australian police said on Thursday a 20-year-old man from Nepean Bay had been charged with causing injury by dangerous driving and would appear in court on March 16.
