Driver admits killing four in SA crash

A driver has pleaded guilty to causing the deaths of four family members in a horror crash in southeast South Australia.

Alexander Thomas Wooldridge, 64, admitted the four counts of dangerous driving causing death and one of causing serious harm in the Mount Gambier magistrates court on Tuesday.

Mount Gambier residents Josh Doyle, 22, his sister Jessica, 16, their mother Michelle, 45, and their grandmother Bev Khan, 68, from Victoria, died when their four-wheel-drive was hit after a truck and a utility Wooldridge was driving collided.

A fifth person in the four-wheel drive, Bradley Kelly, was injured in the crash which occurred on December 1 in the town of Hatherleigh, just north of Millicent.

Wooldridge's bail was continued and the case adjourned to the Mount Gambier District Court on March 3.
