SA cops accused of theft caught on camera

Eight South Australian police officers accused of stealing tools, alcohol and electronics were caught on CCTV footage, a court has heard.

The officers appeared in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Friday where prosecutor Brenton Illingworth was granted a 10-week adjournment to review and organise recently-obtained video including some that was taken at a police station.

The charges, including dishonestly taking property without consent, followed an investigation by the South Australian Independent Commissioner Against Corruption.

The officers were current or former members of an anti-drug squad based in Adelaide's southern suburbs at the time of their arrests last year.

The case will return to court on November 20.
