Conservatives to better protect SA statues

The Australian Conservatives will seek tougher laws to deal with people who vandalise statues and other monuments across South Australia.

MP Dennis Hood says people who desecrate monuments are "outraged activists" engaging in "lawless behaviour".

"It is time we stood up to these bullies who do not speak for every member of society and I plan to put into place laws to protect our way of life," Mr Hood said in a statement on Wednesday.
