Concern over SA pokies proposal
AAP
A proposed pokies venue in an Adelaide housing development could be knocked back because of concerns it could be detrimental to the community.
The Liquor and Gambling Commission is considering the social effects of gambling as it decides whether to allow the South Australian Jockey Club to build 40 pokie machines in St Clair.
Independent Senator Nick Xenophon says the pokie machines will increase problem gambling in an already disadvantaged neighbourhood.
