Children loose in car in South Australia

An unlicensed South Australian man has been caught driving with four kids under the age of 10 unrestrained in the back seat - one of them in a toddler's lap.

The car was pulled over in a 110km/h zone on the Augusta Highway at 4.30pm on Tuesday.

The 30-year-old Port Pirie man has never held a driver's licence and was reported for driving unlicensed, unregistered and uninsured and four counts of failing to ensure a child was properly restrained.

He will be summonsed to appear in the Port Augusta Magistrates Court at a later date.
