Boy hit by car in Adelaide dies

A 10-year-old boy has died in hospital after he was hit by a car while riding a push scooter in Adelaide's northern suburbs.

Police say the boy was riding on Midway Road in Elizabeth Park on Thursday morning when the collision happened.

The driver, a 33-year-old woman from Blackview, was not injured and is assisting police.

Police have called for anyone with information about the crash to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

The incident brings the number of fatalities on South Australia's roads this year to 52, compared to 64 at the same time last year.
