Batteries to boost solar power in SA

Battery storage systems will be installed in a series of public buildings in Adelaide to boost the use of existing solar power.

The state government says the batteries will be located in high profile sites such as the museum, the state library and the art gallery, which all have existing rooftop solar systems.

Energy Minister Tom Kousantonis says the $1.1 million project will demonstrate how integrating battery storage with solar power can deliver greenhouse gas reductions and cost reductions by better managing the energy load.
