Alleged arsonist flees explosive fire with burning foot in Adelaide

CCTV has captured a man fleeing the scene of an explosive fire with one foot engulfed in flames.

Video shared by South Australia Police shows a man pouring accelerant on Old South Road about 3.20am yesterday.

He is shown crouching over before a powerful explosion temporarily whites out the security camera.

The man then appears to run from the scene with his foot engulfed in flames.

Local residents alerted the Metropolitan Fire Service to the blaze, which was quickly extinguished, police said.

The alleged offender, and another person seen in earlier security footage, remain on the run.
