Organisers have announced a program featuring a range of performances and family-oriented activities – although the price of admission for parents and families has risen.

A new addition this year is the Southern Lights Spectacular, described as an Australian-first, it's a 30-minute nightly light show incorporating drones, lasers, and special effects.

"We expect about half a million people come to the show each year so one in every three South Australians on average," Royal Adelaide Show chief executive Will Rayner said.

While the price of children's tickets remains unchanged, adult tickets have increased by $1, and the weekday family ticket price has risen by $3.50.

Tickets are available for purchase online and at Drakes supermarkets.
