Police pounce on e-bike riders accused of endangering lives
The misuse of e-bikes is again in the spotlight after a group of teens was arrested, accused of causing chaos and endangering lives on one of Adelaide’s busiest streets.

Security cameras captured the moment the two underage riders ripped through a car park off Morphett Street before trapping themselves down a dead-end road just before 1pm on Sunday.
But police weren’t far behind, following them into a car park on Addie Place.
One rider gave them the slip.
The other rider was arrested and ushered into the back of an undercover police car.
“I particularly worry when I see young people acting recklessly, not just because of the inconvenience it causes motorists but when they put themselves in danger,” Premier Peter Malinauskas said.
The duo were two of six teenagers arrested by police on Sunday afternoon on West Terrace following reports a large group was riding recklessly, blocking traffic and damaging vehicles.
Six teenagers are facing a number of charges, including acts to endanger life.
They’ve been granted bailed to appear in the youth court in October.
