Adelaide parties over Lonely Planet rank
AAP
South Australia's government is so excited the state has been ranked fifth in Lonely Planet's list of the world's top 10 regions for 2017 that it is throwing a party.
Tourism Minister Leon Bignell says a street party will be held in Adelaide's West End on Friday night to celebrate, with live music, food stalls and pop-up bars.
SA is the only Australian destination to be featured in the company's Best in Travel 2017 publication, ranked ahead of regions in Chile, French Polynesia, the US, Malaysia and Ireland.
