Adelaide man struck in hit-run incident

An Adelaide man is in hospital in a serious condition after a hit-and-run incident in the city's north.

Police and ambulance officers were called to Main North Road at Elizabeth Vale about 8.35pm on Saturday when a car drove off after hitting a man who was running across the road.

The man was treated at the scene before being taken to the Lyell McEwin Hospital in a serious condition.

Thee is no description of the vehicle but it's believed to have sustained windscreen damage.
