Burst water main sends water 20m into the air in Adelaide CBD

A burst water main in the heart of Adelaide's CBD has caused chaos for commuters this morning.
The main erupted on Pirie St, between King William St and Gawler Pl, shortly before 6am, sending streams of water, about 20m high into the air for an hour.

Emergency crews have switched off the water supply as a clean up gets underway.
Drivers are urged to avoid the area, with road closures now in place.
Businesses on the northern side of Pirie St could be without water until noon.
A water main also burst in the city last month.
