Adelaide Access cab drivers to stop work

Owners and drivers of Access taxis in Adelaide will stop work amid concerns over the operation of the fleet.

The action will disrupt services for about an hour on Tuesday to ensure as little inconvenience to their users as possible.

The owners of the cabs, who provide services for the disabled, say they're in dispute with the SA government over delays to implement a promised $10 lifting fee to replace a system which currently allows them to run their meters when loading and unloading wheelchair passengers.

They also have concerns over the upcoming tendering process for the central booking system which selects the operator of the fleet for the next five years.

Access Fleet Advisory Association president Louis Zhang says it's hoped the meeting will prompt a more positive response from the the transport department.
