Aboriginal students from across South Australia will gather in Adelaide to explore future study, training and employment options.

The Aboriginal Pathways Conference will give students access to representatives from universities, TAFE, and the Department of State Development.

The conference on Tuesday comes after a record 253 Aboriginal students completed their South Australian Certificate of Education in 2014 with 137 achieving a tertiary admission score.

Education Minister Susan Close said it was inspirational to witness an increase in the number of Aboriginal students undertaking and completing the certificate.

"These students are great role models for their communities and other students," Ms Close said.
