2600 extra training places: SA govt

More than 2500 new training places will be created in South Australia over the next two years with an $8 million boost for private providers.

Employment Minister Gail Gago is hoping the traineeships and courses will create up to 1500 jobs in sectors including disability services, construction, as well as aged and early childhood care.

This comes after the government in June gave 90 per cent of subsidised training places for 2015/16 to TAFE SA instead of private providers, sparking outrage from the business community.
