SA stabbing murder charge dropped

An Adelaide man is free after prosecutors decided not to proceed against him on a charge of murdering the son of a senior Hells Angels bikie.

Peter Paul Richardson, 51, of Parafield Gardens, was charged with the murder of Kayne David Cluse, 18, who was dropped off at an Adelaide hospital in January with serious stab wounds.

Mr Richardson was due to be arraigned in the Supreme Court on Monday, but on Friday The Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) declined to file any information in the matter.

He was being held on remand in prison and has since been discharged from custody.

Mr Cluse, whose father was a senior Hells Angels bikie based in Darwin, died soon after being dropped off at hospital.

The driver of the car fled the scene but police questioned two women who were passengers and also seized the Holden Commodore.

The women failed to co-operate but detectives later found blood at a suburban Parafield Gardens house and said they believed it was the scene of the stabbing.

The accused man then went to police and was charged with murder.

Mr Cluse is the younger brother of Arron Cluse, who in May was jailed for at least five years for his involvement in a home invasion during which the young son of a Finks bike was shot twice in the leg.

At the time of the stabbing detectives said that, despite the victim's relationship to known bikies, they believed the motive for his death was drug related.
